healthy eating tips

CrossFit Games 2021 are nearing, and many CrossFit Games 2021 participants are extremely excited. Besides the usual competitions like the men's, women's events will also take place. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Keep reading to find out! Don't forget the CrossFit news page to get the latest information about the competition.

Women's competition

The swim event was the start of the women's division at the 2021 Crossfit Games. Jonne Koski was the winner in the first race. Tia Clair Toomey Orr was also victorious. Koski was the overall champion after she maintained her lead throughout. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the women's first event in the Games and the women's side was hoping to complete the podium.

The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. Nine athletes are represented in the field, including a young Australian powerhouse who won last year's competition. Kara Saunders, an Australian athlete who finished second in Australia in the team division and eleventh overall in 2020 is another contender. Andrea Nisler (who competed as a team in the 2018 division, finishing third in the United States and fifteenth overall for 2020) is another rising star. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard was an original feature at Crossfit Games 2021. Along with dumbbell overhead squats and double-unders, it was included in the Games' summer Olympic programme. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 for the men and took home his third Games victory. There were several tie in the contest but Toomey Orr's dominance was too strong to stop him winning.

CrossFit Games are a competition where athletes focus on ten skills that improve their physical fitness: speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. Competitors are tested on their grip strength and coordination in the Pegboard contest. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was intense, and the athletes left feeling satisfied after completing their Pegboard.

Cutting system

CrossFit Games will use a cutting system again for individual competitions. The cuts are not as severe as those used in past Games but they are still very different. Because the competition is made up of 15 events, a cut to 30 athletes after the seventh or eighth event is very likely. One question that remains is how CrossFit will adjust the points distribution after cuts. The scoring table used to determine the winners in the 2019 games was very similar to the one used to determine the losers in 2021. This is why it's most likely that the current system will be used.

This year's CrossFit Games field includes 236 athletes. It is the largest ever. Major cuts occur in the first six events. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. The top 20 athletes then compete in six more events. Castro's system was criticized by veterans Games participants who felt the cuts were too large.

Equipment from Reebok

Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 are the new shoes. They are built to accommodate multiple fitness needs. Reebok claims this shoe is "the shoe that will fit all your fitness needs," but it's more like a regular training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The shoe's responsiveness can be enhanced by its firm midsole and RopePro Tech.

simple health tips

CrossFit's contract with Reebok will expire at the end 2020. The Games will no longer have a title sponsor. The Games have been sponsored by Reebok for over a decade, and it's now clear that the company's involvement will be decreasing. Reebok will no longer sponsor the Games' prize money, but it will continue to manufacture all the athletic apparel and equipment used by athletes, including the Reebok gear. The company won't refer to itself as "Reebok crossfit games" anymore.
